Every day we hear that health care costs are rising at intolerable rates. In an effort to control these costs, health plan administrators work to concentrate the services they provide with a smaller number of providers in an attempt to reduce the cost of each service. This results in restricted access to health care services as well as increased wait times for patients, as the providers scramble to lower their costs and make a profit. These and other demands in our lives make it more difficult to deal with our own health care needs.
As we get older, we also come to understand that our life style choices may adversely affect our health in the future. The choices we make with respect to our own preventive health care (e.g. the foods we eat, the exercise we get, wellness check-ups, etc.) both determine and are determined by the amount of “free” time we have.
Making the right health care choices is complicated. You need professional advice, which can be costly, and difficult to come by.
A major problem affecting costs, quality and ease is that a complete medical history is seldom compiled and located in one spot. And even when medical histories are compiled, they often reside in hand-written form, locked in a primary care physician’s files away from other health care advisors and, even the patients themselves.
Some would say that these factors conspire against us, resulting in sub-optimal health care coupled with ever-higher health care costs. PDQ Care was formed to help us break this cycle.
PDQ Care clinics are located in malls providing convenient access seven days a week, 360 days a year. By locating in malls, minor health care services can be combined with other shopping duties. Our clinics afford patients the opportunity to compile a personal electronic health record at the time of enrollment, yielding centralized records available for personal review and for sharing with any health care providers the patient chooses.
All this makes it easier to seek and receive sound advice from health care professionals, including our own clinic practitioners. With accurate, up-to-date medical records at hand, our professionals can provide information about preventive health opportunities more closely tailored to patients’ specific health care needs.
PDQ Care specializes in a relatively small number of common complaints. By doing so, we can offer these services at a lower cost. We offer a prescription discount card, especially useful for patients without health insurance or who have health care insurance without a prescription benefit. Much of what we offer is available via our website making the Company’s services even more accessible.
We look forward to helping you achieve better, affordable healthcare soon.
