PDQ Care is committed to the principle that medical records should be secure. Our medical records are digital so they are easy to read, can be cross-referenced, are accessible to patients and their health care providers, and support a focused medical approach to arrive at a correct diagnosis. We encourage every patient who seeks services from PDQ Care to let us help them create and maintain a personal health record which summarizes their unique health status. This personal health record will be kept secure, and will be available to the patient through PDQ Care’s patient portal over the Internet.
When we see a patient, whether for an illness or for one of our preventive health services, the encounter is conducted utilizing a focused medical protocol and the results are documented in the patient’s medical record. A copy of the medical record for each encounter can be made available to the patient’s primary care physician at the sole discretion of the patient.
Any prescription written at PDQ Care will be electronically checked against allergies, other medications or existing conditions, for contraindications. Subsequent to any encounter, printed medical records will be available to the patient for a nominal charge, or at no charge if the patient is a subscriber to PDQ Care’s PHR-to-Go™ service. In any event, the patient’s medical record will be available at no charge through the patient portal.
